Biography
Tsar of All Russia in 1682-1721; Sovereign Emperor of All Russia in 1721-1725. The son of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and Natalya Kirillovna Naryshkina. Born on May 30, 1672. He was enthroned on April 27, 1682. He was coronated with his brother Ivan Alekseevich on June 27 of the same year. He ruled as the All Russia King from April 27th to May 26th, 1682 and from January 29th 1692 to October 22nd 1721. He was proclaimed Emperor by the Senate in 1721. Wives: 1) Evdokia Fedorovna Lopukhova (born June 30th, 1669, died on Aug. 27th 1731) since Jan 27th 1689; 2) Marta Skavronskaya, Empress Catherine I Alekseevna (born April 5th, 1684, died May 6th, 1727) since Feb. 19th 1712. Peter I died on January 28th, 1725. He was buried in the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
