The plant was founded in 1744 in St. Petersburg and was listed under the personal account of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. The technological process and porcelain formulations were developed by Dmitry Ivanovich Vinogradov (1720–1758). In 1870, the Imperial Glass Factory joined the enterprise, and the name was changed to the Imperial Porcelain and Glass Factory. After the October Socialist Revolution from 1917 to 1925 it was called the State Porcelain Factory. In the years 1925-1936 - State Porcelain Factory named after Lomonosov. From 1936 to 1992 - Leningrad Porcelain Factory named after Lomonosov. Since 1993 it bears the name - Lomonosov Porcelain Factory JSC. Since 2002, the plant has been the property of the head of Uralsib Nikolai Tsvetkov. In 2005, by decision of the shareholders, it was again renamed the Imperial Porcelain Factory.
