Manufacture nationale de Sevres
French Frit Ceramics Manufactory. Founded with the support of Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour in the Vincennes castle in 1746, belonged to a joint-stock company. In 1756, the factory was transferred to Sevres, near the Bellevue Palace, where Madame de Pompadour lived in a special-built room. In 1759 it became the property of the King. From 1756 to 1800, the manufactory produced soft paste, and from 1769 - hard paste. Now the factory is under the control of the Ministry of Culture of France.
