The St. Petersburg Mint, was founded by Peter the Great on the territory of St Peter and St Paul Fortress in 1724, was renamed the Petrograd Mint in 1914, and was called the Leningrad Mint from 1924 to 1996. One of the largest mints in the world for minting coins, including commemorative and jubilee ones made of precious metals, as well as for the creating the orders, medals, insignias and other products from non-ferrous metals and their alloys. Currently, the St. Petersburg Mint is the oldest enterprise of the famous Russian association Goznak.
