The common name of the palace medieval workshops of the Moscow Kremlin, in which things were made by royal decree. Secular and church utensils were performed in the Golden and Silver Chambers, weapons - in the Armory, horse stables - in the Moscow Kremlin Stable Workshops, etc. The structure of the workshops had taking shape on the territory of the Kremlin in the 15th – 16th centuries, and in the first half of the 17th century it finally appeared. In the second half of the 17th century, the Moscow Kremlin workshops acquired the significance of an unconditional center of Russian culture, a kind of Academy of Arts - the craftsmen who came here could improve their skills, studying not only from their mentors, but also from the brilliant examples of the past.
