Icon painter from Yaroslavl. He was mentioned in documents from 1649 to 1654. Under Tsars Mikhail Fedorovich and Alexei Mikhailovich he was repeatedly called to Moscow to produce icon-painting works. Together with Sevastyan Dmitriev, he painted the porch of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery in 1650. He took part in the creation of the iconostasis of the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin in 1653.
